A number of festivals and celebrations are taking place in Toronto this weekend, some of them in person for the first time since the pandemic began.

From food festivals to free live music outdoors, there’s something for everyone.

The Grilled Cheese Challenge
What: Applicants will submit their opinion on “Best Grilled Cheese” and will compete for the “Best Grilled Cheese” award as well as the People’s Choice Awards

The parade for the day of Portugal
What: The 31st annual Parade of Portugal Day as part of Portugal Week

The Word on the Street Festival.
What: A celebration of storytelling, ideas and imagination, including Canada’s largest free book and magazine festival

World naked cycling
What: Toronto Naked Bike Ride is a clothing protest bicycle protest aimed at “combating colonial violence against racist, disabled, queer, trance, working class, prostitutes, homeless and poor people”

Local Fashion Arts Festival
What: Led by a majority of indigenous women, IFAF connects audiences with artistic and cultural expression that celebrates and encourages local artists and designers

Price: Festival panels and the market are free. Seminars and access to the track are ticket events
Foodalicious Toronto
What: The largest food truck festival in the Toronto area with walks in the middle
When: June 11 and 12
Where: Downsview Park
Price: Total admission is $ 20. Children under 12 are free
ROM: Free access to the main floor
What: Free access to the first floor of the Royal Ontario Museum. The first floor includes the First Peoples Gallery, as well as galleries in China and Korea and two special exhibitions on the pandemic. A Greek sculpture of a girl, Kore 670, is currently on display

The EarlyON Children’s and Family Center at 519 for a celebration of pride
What: Family event to celebrate the 2SLBGTQ + community, with musical performances and visits by local community groups
