HBO presenter and comedian Bill Maher criticized Fox News for its decision not to broadcast the first public hearing of the House of Representatives committee on Jan. 6 on its main channel and the way it prioritized news stories at the time on its website.
During his opening monologue for “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Friday, the host said: “Fox News won’t even show it. They had regular programming. It was released on the Fox Business Network because I think we can all agree that it’s a business story.
“There was a Fox News website today – do you know what the big thing was about it?” Britney Spears. One of her exes broke up the wedding. It’s like the Washington Post published a story about Cher that fell into the pool during Watergate, “he added.
The House of Representatives’ election committee held its first public hearing Thursday in an attempt to argue that former President Trump is playing a central role in the conspiracy to stay in power after the 2020 presidential election.
During the hearing, the commission broadcast videos of testimonies from former Attorney General William Barr and the daughter of former President Ivanka Trump. It also includes live testimonies from Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards and the documentary Nick Custed.
Fox News Media announced before the committee’s hearing earlier this week that it would not broadcast live, continuous coverage of the hearing on its main channel. Instead, the coverage will be on Fox Business, hosted by Martha McCallum and Brett Bayer.
Other coverage of the prime time hearing was offered on Fox Nation, Fox News Digital and Fox News Audio. Its local US affiliates also broadcast live.

Fox News Media said it would “cover the hearings according to the news” on its main channel.
“They are all upset that Fox’s is not covering it live,” Fox News presenter Laura Ingraham said on Tuesday. “We’re actually doing something called, you know, taking care of our audience. Our audience knows what it is. We will reflect on it and we will do a lot of reflection… but this is the theater, the total theater. ”
