The pop superstar married Sam Asgari, as planned on Thursday night, a source close to Spears confirmed to CNN.
The couple, who got engaged in September 2021, met for the first time in 2016, when Asgari partnered with Spears in the video for her single “Slumber Party”.
This is the third marriage of the singer.
On Friday, Spears revealed about the wedding in an Instagram post.
“It was the most spectacular day,” Spears wrote. “I was so nervous all morning, but then at 14:00 I was hit … WE ARE GETTING MARRIED !!! I had a panic attack and then I recovered.”
She thanked those involved in planning her big day for turning her home into a “literally dream castle”.
“The ceremony was a dream and the party was even better,” she added.
Ahead of Thursday’s ceremony, Spears’ ex-husband, Jason Alexander, was arrested and charged with trespassing and killing after gaining unauthorized access to the wedding venue, police said.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the residence in response to an intrusion signal, police said.
The intrusion suspect was later identified as Alexander, according to a sergeant. Cyrus Zade with the county sheriff’s office.
Alexander collided with security when he entered the singer’s property, and a quarrel broke out between him and two security officers, Zade told CNN. Both guards were beaten during a physical fight.
Alexander was arrested and charged with a felony, two counts of crime and one count of vandalism, Zade said.
Spears was married to Alexander, a childhood friend, for about 55 hours in 2004, before the marriage was annulled. She was also married to dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, before filing for divorce in 2006.
