The signal says the city is expected to receive between 75 and 100 millimeters of rain by Wednesday morning. It says large areas of western Alberta on the eastern slopes of the Rockies may be affected.

“A wide area from Hinton to Waterton is expected to see at least 50mm by Wednesday morning, with 100mm or more possible in some areas of the foothills,” warns a special statement from Environment Canada. “Currently, it looks like the highest rainfall will be near Kananaskis, west of Calgary.”

The signal says that residents should monitor their local forecasts for the latest information.
