Calgary drivers stopped while crossing geese on a busy route

An unusual blockade stopped drivers on a busy Calgary road on Saturday morning.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., a large number of adult geese took the opportunity to carry their babies through the four lanes of Memorial Drive, west of downtown.

About half a dozen vehicles were forced to stop for feathered pedestrians, and some drivers were even brave enough to get out in an attempt to remove the birds from the road.

Soon the large group was able to pass safely, allowing the movement to resume.
