News of the assassination attempt against Supreme Court Justice Brett Cavanaugh has been ignored by all Sunday’s political broadcasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN.

Early Wednesday, two U.S. marshals witnessed a black-clad suspect get out of a taxi in front of Cavanaugh’s home in Montgomery County with a backpack and suitcase. Shortly afterwards, the suspect, identified as Nicholas John Roske, called 911 to say he was suicidal and intending to assassinate Cavanaugh in response to a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion in May.

Police arrested Roske after the call and detained several items, including a black tactical chest and tactical knife, a Glock 17 pistol with two cartridges and ammunition, pepper spray and zip ties.

In the days following the assassination attempt, the mainstream media greatly underestimated the news, instead suggesting that “both sides” in the abortion debate were guilty of violent rhetoric.

By Sunday morning, the story had been ignored by all the major Sunday shows except Fox News Sunday.

Much of the attention on Sunday morning was devoted to the discussion of the hearings in Congress on Thursday (January 6th), which were widely promoted by liberal hosts and Democrat politicians. The hearings aired on a rare prime time schedule with reports that a former ABC News CEO had been hired to help produce the event.

The assassination attempt against Cavanaugh followed weeks of heated rhetoric by Democrats and media experts criticizing conservative Supreme Court judges for a potential ruling in a case that could overturn Rowe v. Wade. Protests in favor of the election are also persistently protesting in front of judges’ private homes, although federal law prevents attempts to “influence” a lawsuit.

Cavanaugh himself has been a target of the mass media since its initial confirmation in 2018.

In Fox News Sunday, presenter Brett Bayer confronted Senator Chris Koons, D-Del., About whether violent rhetoric influenced the thwarted attack. Until Koons singled out Democrats, he called for a reduction in the “level” of our political rhetoric.

“I think we all need to reduce the level of our rhetoric and keep in mind the fact that inciting potential violence is not a good or constructive thing to be done at this time in our country by any political leader.” , he said. .
