It was a smooth end to a busy Saturday on Shelborne Street north of Commissioners Road and between Deveron Crescent and Pond Mills Road, where London police tactical teams, uniformed officers and K-9 units gathered at the town hall complex behind Paranyde Bar and Grill.

They began to gather there after initial reports around 2:30 a.m. Saturday that there were “restaurant” shots on the roads of Commissars and Pond Mills. No one was injured, but police said they had found evidence that they had been shot.

London police did not name the business involved, but as heavily armed police surrounded the building, the nightclub, just a five-minute walk from the all-day confrontation, had uniformed officers and forensic police.

With the alleged weapons involved in the investigation, it was clear that the police would take all possible precautions.

At one point on Saturday afternoon, there were about 20 police cars parked near and along the street. Heavily armed emergency response officers could be seen moving around the perimeter, and a tactical truck was parked right in front of Block 49. The only distinguishing features of the unit were the red rose bush growing around the front window and the barbecue parked outside. front door.

“For your safety, you must now come out with nothing in your hands,” the police spokesman roared. “We’re not going anywhere.”

London police said little as the drama unfolded. At the scene of the collision, London police spokesman Const. Gavn Dell said police are asking the public to move away from the area and anyone who may have information or video of the gun incident to come out.

And he confirmed that the nightclub shootings and the opposition to the town hall were linked.

There was little progress all morning. Police allowed Ryan, the man believed to be inside the town hall, to receive a search warrant to enter the residence.

The order appeared around 13:30 and the police activity intensified. While some residents were asked to leave their units when the opposition began, for the most part people were able to move freely in the area, except near the town hall, until the order arrived.

Once the documents were in place, the people were returned from the area. A police spokesman said the man would be charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.

This level of heightened alert remained in place for several hours. From the street there are sounds of a police ram banging on the front door. But then there was nothing. Curious neighbors who were asked to keep their distance were soon allowed to approach.

And no one left the house.

By 4.30pm, ERU members began packing their equipment. A fire truck with fans arrived to ventilate the building.

And the news came that the police had finally entered and no one was there.

Police are expected to provide more information later.
