Spider-Man: No Way Home returns to theaters on September 2 after breaking box office records and becoming one of the highest grossing films. This time, Marvel is scattering some new and expanded scenes to keep things fresh.
Marvel called the revised film “The More Fun Stuff Version” and said it was releasing it in honor of Spider-Man’s 60th birthday in comics. Oh, yes, and this is the 20th anniversary of Toby Maguire’s debut in the first Spider-Man movie (do you feel old?).
Spider-Man: No Way Home isn’t really like all the other Spider-Man movies in the franchise, precisely because all three Spider-Mans (Spider-Mans?) Intersect. That’s why it makes more sense for Marvel and Sony to return the film to theaters on the occasion of Spider-Man’s anniversary – unlike what both companies did with Morbius when they reissued the film because of the meme (RIP).
Tickets will go on sale on August 9, and Marvel will announce dates for other countries “soon”. If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: No Way Home when it first hit theaters, this is (probably) your last chance to see it on the big screen.
