Driver faces disability charge after hitting child in Saskatoon

A man has been arrested and faces two counts of disability driving after seriously injuring a 5-year-old pedestrian in Saskatoon on Saturday night.

Saskatoon Police Department said in a press release that the 31-year-old driver was traveling west on 21st Street W in a truck when he collided with a young boy between Ave K and Ave L South. The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to recover.

The driver was charged with violating driving with bodily harm and exceeding the permissible dose of alcohol, causing bodily harm. No additional information was provided.
