Netflix confirms Squid Game Season 2, releases short teaser

Earlier in January, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos officially confirmed that there were more episodes.

Officially confirming the return of the hit Netflix drama series “Squid Game” for the second season, on Sunday the streaming platform released a short teaser.

According to Variety, the video was accompanied by a message from creator, screenwriter, director and executive producer Hwang Dong-Hyuk, detailing which characters are returning for a second-grader outing.

“Red light … GREEN LIGHT! The squid game is officially back for season 2! ”Read the text along with the video, which includes a short animation of the giant animatron doll, which is strongly involved in the Squid Game pilot.

In a statement, Hwang said: “It took 12 years to bring the first season of The Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. Like the writer, director and producer of The Squid Game, a huge outcry to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show. “

The statement further irritates some of the story for next season, revealing that the main character Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the masked antagonist Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) will return.

According to Variety, the first season of “Squid Game” marked Netflix’s biggest TV show to date; recorded 1.65 billion hours of viewing in the first four weeks of its release last fall. Earlier in January, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos officially confirmed that there were more episodes.
