BTS confirmed that they are going on a break.
The k-pop superstars announced the news during their FESTA dinner, which is part of the annual celebration of their founding. When they celebrated their ninth year together this month, they told fans it was time to take a longer break and pursue solo projects.
The RM member said in the video below that although they have achieved as much as the BTS, individual members still need to grow and mature as individuals.
“I’ve always thought that BTS is different from other bands, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature. “You have to keep making music and doing something,” he said.
RM added that he now wants to take the time to think about the new direction of BTS, both as individuals and as a group.
The rest of the BTS said the holiday decision was a difficult one, adding that they felt as if they were disappointing their fans.
“We can’t help but think of our fans, no matter what, we want to be the kind of artists that our fans remember. “I think we’re starting to think about what kind of artists we want our fans to remember,” said Jimin.
“I think that’s why we’re going through a difficult time right now, trying to find our identity, and it’s a grueling and long process.

In 2019, a BTS representative clarified the reports of an “extended” break in the group, explaining that it was instead a “short” break.
“This period of rest will be an opportunity for BTS members, who are tirelessly striving for their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves again as musicians and artists,” the publication said. “It will also give them a chance to enjoy the ordinary life of young people in their 20s, albeit for a short time.
The announcement went on to say that BTS members “will rest and recharge in their own way” during the break, while asking fans to respect their privacy.
All members of the seven BTS have released music under solo projects: RM, Jungkook, Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope and V.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, BTS released the music video for “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)”, which is the title track of their new compilation album “Proof”.
The visual begins with Jungkook, who sits alone in the desert and looks at the vast open ground. He then moves on to a septet sitting together while performing “Yet To Come,” which reveals that the boy band is looking back on their nine-year career.
“Proof” is a compilation of 48 songs that includes many of the band’s hit singles, from “Boy With Luv” starring Halsey to their debut single “No More Dream”.
