Detailed DLC Resident Evil Village, will include 3 different parts

Capcom announced that it was developing the Resident Evil Village DLC last June because of “popular demand.” It was overshadowed by Capcom’s summer showcase in 2022, where the company revealed more about the upcoming expansion. This DLC will have three parts: Shadows of Rose, Mercenaries: Additional Orders and a third party mode. They all come out on October 28.

The action of Shadows of Rose takes place after the main game and with the participation of Ethan’s daughter, Rose. She is trying to get rid of her gifted strength. To get rid of the curse, she “enters the mind of Megamyceta”, the bacterial superorganism that is the root of the mold in the series. She meets her double in this distorted space and fights with enemies and her environment from a third party perspective.

Mercenaries: Additional Orders is an arcade add-on based on Mercenaries that adds three new characters: Chris Redfield, Carl Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu. They all have unique movements. Chris appears to be using firepower, Heisenberg has been shown summoning his own monsters, and Dimitrescu appears to be using her melee attacks and throwing chairs. There will be new stages.

Third-party mode is exactly what it sounds like. It turns Village into a third-person game that looks more like remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3.

Capcom also recently revealed that Resident Evil Village will be coming to PlayStation VR2. The showcase didn’t reveal much about it, but said the “main story” could be played, hinting that DLC and Mercenaries would not be part of the package. Resident Evil Re: Verse, the postponed multiplayer project, will also be released on October 28 along with the extensions.
