Epidemics have been declared by COVID-19 – TBNewsWatch.com

The Thunder Bay Health Unit is now tracking only one remaining outbreak in a vulnerable environment.

THUNDER BAY – Outbreaks of COVID-19 have been announced at the Bethammi Nursing Home and the Hogarth Riverview Manor Long-Term Care Home.

That left only one active outbreak in a vulnerable environment as of Tuesday, according to Thunder Bay Health.

This remaining outbreak included the Pioneer Ridge long-term care home, where an outbreak was announced in the Plaza 1 area on May 30.

The number of outbreaks monitored by the health unit in vulnerable conditions such as hospitals and long-term care homes is declining.

The seven-day average for the number of vulnerable outbreaks remained above 10 for most of May. The figure fell to 3.6 by June 12.
