Karen Amsden told the Daily Beast that she gave an ultimatum to her 27-year-old son Jared Michael Boyce after he appeared on her doorstep in Springville, Utah, on Sunday after being rescued from prison by an anonymous donor.

When she saw the news of the 31 arrests, Amsden said she knew immediately that her son was involved. She searched the photos of men wearing balaclavas – and finally noticed Boyce.

Amsden said her son spent years searching for “brotherhood” and trying to fill the “void” after his father became gay and left their family when he was younger.

Boyce lived with his then-wife and two children in 2018, when he found the Patriotic Front on the Internet, according to his mother.
