Resident Evil 4 Remake gets new gameplay, it seems to confirm a great new addition

Resident Evil 4 Remake got a few more seconds of gameplay in today’s Capcom Showcase, probably confirming a major addition to the process: Leon Kennedy can move while pointing his gun.

During the trailer, Leon is shown briefly aiming his pistol, seemingly continuing to move as he does so. If this is the case, it will fundamentally change Resident Evil 4, which has been known to make you stand up against hordes of ganados. In fact, Dead Space, which was heavily inspired by Capcom’s horror classics, was known as “Resident Evil 4 with the ability to aim while moving.”

You can judge for yourself around point 1:48 of the video.

In addition to additional glimpses of the gameplay, Capcom also offered a brief summary of the events leading up to Resident Evil 4. The stream reiterated that it is being updated with “modern heydays” and that ganado has been completely redesigned.

“We want to erase the feeling of loneliness and fear of not knowing what lies ahead, especially in the original,” explained the developer of Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The proposal for a remake of Resident Evil 4 came as part of a leak from Capcom in late 2020; A data breach has reportedly found references to a remake of RE4 among other future Capcom projects. Subsequent reports from the rumor mill suggest that the project was the subject of a “partial restart” at Capcom due to internal disagreements over its direction.

After all this time, we finally got a solid message about the game this month, which seems to be reworking the story to connect more closely with Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. For more information, see our full summary of today’s Capcom showcase.
