The UK’s Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has called on people in the county to check on those who are most vulnerable and watch for signs of heart and lung disease, with heat expected to reach 34C in some areas.
The warning is in effect from midnight on Thursday, June 16, until midnight on Saturday, June 18.
Norfolk is currently under a second-level warning, which means there is a 60% chance of heat waves.
Under a second-level warning, people in the county must be “vigilant and ready” for the event, which hit high temperatures, with social and health services working to ensure they are ready to take swift action to reduce the damage from a potential heat wave. .
Dr Agostino Souza, head of the UKHSA’s Extreme Events and Health Department, said: “High temperatures are expected in some parts of the Midlands and south on Friday. We want everyone to enjoy the hot weather safely when it arrives and be aware of good health tips for dealing with warmer conditions.
“During periods of hot weather, it is especially important to continue to check on the most vulnerable, such as the elderly and those with heart or lung disease. Remember to watch out for signs of heat exhaustion and follow our simple health tips to beat the heat. “

- Drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol
- Never leave people or animals in a closed parked vehicle
- Try to protect yourself from the sun between 11:00 and 15:00

- Avoid physical activity in the hottest parts of the day
- Don’t forget to take water with you if you travel
- Be careful and don’t forget to follow local safety tips if you enter the water to cool off
