A loud crash shook homes along the river, sending a stream of smoke into the air.
The loud noise, which some people said sounded like an explosion, was heard around 4pm on Thursday, June 16th. People in Liverpool and Ural heard the noise and took pictures of what looked like smoke coming from Buttel reports.
Hundreds of people turned to social media to speculate on the noise.

One man said they were sitting on New Brighton Beach when they heard a “massive strong blow” that sent a “shock wave”. Another added: “I heard it in New Brighton that the house shook.”
A spokesman for the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service told ECHO that they had not received any calls about a major explosion or explosion. Merseyside police are also investigating the reports. Peel Ports said it was unaware of the incidents.
