Perhaps one of the more unexpected announcements from last week’s Apple WWDC event was the unveiling of a new 13-inch MacBook Pro that will be equipped with the new Apple M2 processor. Although Apple initially hinted that the new MacBook would be available in July, pre-order pages are now available at a number of retailers, with delivery and in-store availability starting June 24.
Currently, you can pre-order configurations for the new 13-inch MacBook through Apple’s storefront or through a handful of authorized resellers, which we’ll list on this page as more retailers pre-order.
Amazon
Amazon has pre-orders available for the 256GB and 512GB configurations on the MBook MacBook, with orders delivered on June 24. However, configurations with additional RAM or SSD are not currently available.
The base model of Apple’s latest version of the MacBook Pro comes with a 13-inch display and Apple’s M2 processor in addition to 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
Apple
As you may have guessed, Apple is offering all brands and models of its new MacBook Pro for pre-order, with units to be shipped on June 24. Also, like many other products that you can purchase directly from Apple, your pre-order is eligible for a price reduction if you trade with an eligible Apple product.
Adorama
Adorama has the same 256 GB and 512 GB pre-order models as Amazon, with a note that Apple will begin shipping the MacBook Pro on June 24. You should also note that Adorama allows you to trade certain Apple products for an Adorama gift card if you want to upgrade from a previous model.
B&H Photo
Because B&H photo is an authorized Apple reseller, all colors and configurations of the new MacBook Pro are available for pre-order. This includes the base 256GB and 512GB models, which can be upgraded with up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage if you need it.
Best buy
Best Buy offers the standard 256GB and 512GB MacBook Pro in both silver and space gray, with a delivery date of June 24. Members of the Best Buy Totaltech program also automatically receive 24 months of AppleCare Plus, which extends the warranty of your product, provides you with additional technical support and increases protection against accidental damage. Best Buy also offers an exchange program that can reduce the cost of your order, but usually requires you to take the product to a store for evaluation first.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro will be available in several configurations in silver or space gray. Although the models share many of the same specifications, they can all be configured with up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB SSD storage. The cheapest model starts at $ 1,299.99 and is equipped with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, but it is also possible to spend up to $ 2,499.99 for a model that pulls all the stops. We haven’t had a chance to test any of these new MacBook Pro models, but the new M2 processor will certainly give it a leg up on Apple’s previous 13-inch model, even if the hardware is pretty much the same. It even retains the Touch Bar splitter and includes active cooling to keep the M2 processor running at maximum performance even when working on heavier projects.
For even more details on how this year’s model mixes things up, we’ve put together an extensive comparison between Apple’s latest MacBook Pro and its upgraded MacBook Air, along with last year’s 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
