Poco F4, Poco X4 GT expired before the unveiling

TL; DR

  • Poco’s two upcoming phones have leaked online.
  • The Poco F4 is identical to the Redmi K40s, except for a different main camera.
  • Meanwhile, the Poco X4 GT seems to be based on the already launched Redmi phone.

Poco has confirmed that it will launch the Poco F4 and Poco X4 GT worldwide on June 23, adding that the previous device will arrive with the Snapdragon 870 chipset. Now it looks like the phones are completely out of date.

We already know what the Poco F4 will look like thanks to Indian reviewers who publish images online. But the always reliable German store WinFuture has also described the specifications in detail and is indeed largely in line with the Redmi K40s for China only.

Poco F4: What do I know?

In addition to the aforementioned Snapdragon 870 SoC, the new phone will be equipped with a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED screen (2400 x 1080, Gorilla Glass 5), 8GB of RAM and 256GB of memory.

Poco’s next F-Series phone will also offer a 4500mAh battery, 67W cable charging (no wireless charging here) and a triple rear camera system. The company has previously confirmed that it will have a 64MP main camera with OIS, but WinFuture adds that the phone also has an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. The 20-megapixel camera is said to support selfies and video calls.

In other words, the only major difference between the Poco F4 and the Redmi K40s seems to be the transition from a 48MP main shooter to a 64MP sensor.

Poco X4 GT: Powerful middle class

We didn’t know much about the Poco X4 GT, but WinFuture claims that the phone is essentially a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus. That being said, the specifications given here look more in line with the Redmi Note 11T Pro.

Expect a 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD panel (FHD +), Mediatek Dimensity 8100 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB memory and 5080mAh battery with 67W cable charging. Poco’s next X-Series phone is also expected to come with a triple rear camera system (64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro), 20MP selfie camera and 3.5mm port.

Both phones are also expected to receive support for dual SIM cards and the Poco flavor of MIUI on top of Android 12.

Prices for Poco F4, X4 GT

The Poco F4 may be priced at just under € 430 (~ $ 447), while the Poco X4 GT is said to be priced below € 400 (~ $ 416). This puts the first within touch of the Pixel 6a and Samsung Galaxy A53. Meanwhile, the latter is in line with devices such as Samsung’s cheaper Galaxy A series phones.

We will have to wait until June 23 to see if these leaks will take place, but it certainly seems that both phones may be worth looking into if you need a well-rounded middle class.
