Americans who believe they may have been exposed to monkeypox should take precautions, such as masturbating 6 feet from their partner, to prevent the virus from spreading, health officials say.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a list of safe activities for sexually active patients earlier this month. Recommendations include avoiding kisses and “having sex with your clothes on or covering areas where there are rashes or sores.”
Patients and future patients are also advised to “wash their hands, fetish equipment, sex toys and all kinds of tissues” after sex and masturbate together at least 6 feet apart without touching each other and without touching a rash or sores. ”
