YouTube confirmed on Friday that it had removed a video uploaded by a House of Representatives committee investigating the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, for violating the platform’s election integrity policy.
“Our election integrity policy prohibits content that falsely alleges that widespread fraud, errors or problems have changed the outcome of the 2020 US presidential election if it does not provide sufficient context. We apply our policies equally to everyone and have removed the video uploaded by the committee’s channel on January 6, “said Ivy Choi, a YouTube spokesman.
The video in question was a clip from a hearing the commission conducted and posted on the video platform on Tuesday, The New York Times reported.
Part of the video shows the former president unreasonably claiming in Fox Business that “We had problems when thousands of votes were moved from my account to Biden’s account,” according to the newspaper. The video reportedly includes some testimony from former Attorney General William Barr.
Although the commission also showed testimony from Bar in which it rejected former President Trump’s baseless allegations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, calling them “crazy things” and “bulls”, this view was not presented in the video removed from YouTube, the Times notes.

In public hearings this month, the commission told the public that the Capitol uprising was the result of Trump-led efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. So far, the commission has held three meetings.
Speaking at an event of faith and freedom in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday, Trump objected to the commission and its hearings.
