Environment Canada warns Prince Edward Islanders that strong thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon could continue into the evening.
“Watch out for adverse weather conditions and take the necessary precautions. Watch out for updated statements, “advised the meteorological agency. “Clusters of strong thunderstorms may continue tonight.”
After issuing a clock for a strong thunderstorm earlier on Saturday, Environment Canada upgraded it to a more serious “warning” that was lowered to a clock.
“Dangerous” thunderstorms can cause strong gusts of wind, harmful hail and heavy rain.
Rain could fall at 25 millimeters per hour or higher, the organization said.

Numerous strong thunderstorms were found from Borden to Charlottetown to Gaspero, Environment Canada said in a press release at 3:46 p.m. on Saturday. The areas between Malpec and the national parks near St. Peters Bay are also affected.
