PRINCE GEORGE, VI
Kevin Connolly, a supervising inspector with the U.S. Marshals Service, said Tavares Graham returned to the Prince George’s Minimum Security Facility early Sunday morning and surrendered.
“He was being monitored by low-security correctors,” Connelly said. He went to them and said, “I am Tavares Graham.”
On Saturday, June 18, at around 1:45 am, officials from the Federal Penitentiary Complex (FCC) in St. Petersburg said that Corey Branch, Tavares Graham, Lamonte Willis and Karim Shaw “came out” in the early hours of the morning.
“They weren’t where they should have been during one of Friday night’s counts, and they were all on the run,” Connelly said.
The search for Corey Brunch, Lamonte Willis and Karim Shaw continues. When NBC12 asked Connelly if these men posed a threat to the community, Connelly said he did not believe it.
“These were people who were already working in the community during the day, something like guardians. So this is not a situation beyond the wall, behind the fence. We take it seriously. “
Graham, 44, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine and 28 grams or more of cocaine, as well as possession of a firearm.
Brunch, 41, is described as a black man with black hair and brown eyes, 5’8 висо tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was sentenced to 13 years on charges of distributing fentanyl and possession of a firearm.
Willis, 30, is described as a black man with brown eyes, 6’2 висо tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds. He was sentenced to 18 years for possession and concealment of stolen firearms and possession of firearms by a convicted criminal.
Shaw, 46, is described as a black man with black hair, brown eyes, 5’8 “tall, weighing approximately 167 pounds. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison for conspiracy to possess heroin.
Connelly also said these men could face jail charges of federal escape, which could be punishable by up to five years behind bars.
“If they hear this or read this and really want to surrender, we will certainly take that into account with the US Attorney’s Office,” Connelly said.
The Office of Marshals of the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies were notified and an internal investigation was launched. No details have been released on how the men managed to get away from the facility.
Anyone with information about these men should contact the United States Marshal’s Office at 804-545-8501.
