It was a brutal father’s day in Toronto after four separate shootings on Sunday that killed one man and injured seven others, including two teenagers.
Police were first called to a residential building on Humber Boulevard, near Weston Road and Black Creek Drive, at 2:42 p.m.
Const. of Toronto Police. Alex Lee said police found a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old boy suffering gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
“This is worrying, especially with the young people who have been shot,” Lee said.

He noted that up to 15 shots were heard in the area.
“We have already spoken to many witnesses. As you can see, there are many apartments and town complexes behind us. We want to thank the people of the community for coming out and helping us with the initial information,” Lee said.
“I want to reaffirm the fact that we have deployed all available resources in the area to keep the area safe.”
Police are investigating two other shootings in broad daylight
Around 4:17 p.m., Lee said officers responded to another shooting at Amaranth Court, north of Alan Road and the West Area of Lawrence Avenue.

When they arrived, police found a man with a gunshot wound. Lee said the victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
He is in critical condition.
Minutes later, at 4:24 p.m., police were called for a third shooting more than two miles away at a Lotherton Pathway residential complex near Caledonia Road and Lawrence Avenue West.
Upon arrival, officers found a man without vital signs, Lee said. He was later pronounced dead on the spot.
Murder investigators have not been called in to investigate the shooting.
A resident of the area described hearing six loud shots. He said, “They weren’t low caliber. They sounded high caliber, automatically because they sounded pop, pop, pop, pop, pop really loud.”

“We have specialized units, our weapons and task forces are stationed, and our neighborhood officers are in the area,” Lee said.
He noted that police still do not have suspicious information about the three shootings.
“It’s hard every day, but especially on Father’s Day, and many of us are fathers. And that’s what happens,” Lee said, calling the shooting “brazen.”
“This is a cause for concern. But we want to reassure the community that we have all the support that has been given to us, the Toronto police, and the victim services to help these families. And we will ensure that the community feels safe and supported during this time. “
Fourth shooting in an unauthorized car encounter
At around 8pm, police responded to the city’s fourth shooting of the day in Scarborough.
Police said four people were shot dead at an unauthorized gathering car in a parking lot near McCowan Road and Milner Avenue, north of Highway 401.

According to paramedics in Toronto, one of the victims received severe, life-changing injuries, two others received serious injuries, and a fourth victim had minor injuries.
Police say they are looking for a white Honda Civic that has been seen leaving the area.
“No one wants these things to happen in Toronto,” says Duty Insp. Said Paul Kravchik. “It’s a tough day when we have to get up and talk about these things on a day like Father’s Day. But really, every day that happens in Toronto is not a good day.”
