A huge fire sent smoke to swirl in the silhouette near Derbyshire. Social media users reported a large fire coming from the center of Burton.
Chris Manning said: “A huge fire in the center of Burton. I hope no one is in danger.”
Smoke was seen rising in the sky around Staffordshire as the crews left the scene after putting out the blaze completely about five hours after their arrival.
A spokesman for the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to the Green Street area of Burton at 5:20 p.m. There are four pumps and one officer at the scene.
Initial reports to the fire department described the incident as a “barrack fire”.
