Sutton Coldfield Dispersal Order After “Shots and Violence” Downtown

Police are investigating gun shells found after the Sutton Coldfield violence. Quinn Street and a number of roads were cut off. A number of 999 calls said a gun had been fired.

There is now an order to disperse in the area after the violent incident near The Parade in the early hours of Saturday morning, June 18. Forensic teams are investigating evidence gathered at the scene, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage in an attempt to identify those involved.

The spray order is valid for 48 hours until 18:00 on Monday, June 20. West Midlands police are now urging witnesses to come forward for any footage from mobile phones showing what happened.

One man said he was punched in the face but did not need hospital treatment. Police said there were no reports of other injuries.

A West Midlands police spokesman said: “We have an order to disperse downtown Sutton Coldfield after a violent parade in the early hours of yesterday morning. The order is in effect for 48 hours until 6 pm tomorrow evening, June 20.

“We are investigating after shots were heard and our forensic team is investigating shell casings found at the scene. No injuries were reported and detectives were inspecting the area’s video surveillance to identify those involved.

“You may have noticed an increase in police presence last night in Sutton Coldfield, as we are committed to reducing violent crime on our streets.

“We want to hear from everyone who has been there and seen what happened or has a cell phone recording of the incident and has not yet spoken to us.
