The hailstorm leveled vineyards and crops, smashed roofs and ruined vehicles in large parts of France for the third time this year.
The government promised help to farmers and winemakers yesterday after the latest storm. Hailstones compared to golf balls caused millions of euros in damage in the central and southwestern regions from Sunday to Tuesday.
In Digoin, on the Loire River in central Saône-et-Loire, Senator Fabien Genet said: “We have just had a storm of unprecedented hail violence of a scale never seen before. Huge damage has been done.
