“While working in the yard over the weekend, I suffered a serious injury to my right arm, which required immediate surgery,” Kramer said. “I continue to stay in North Dakota close to medical care because of the high risk of infection and the possible need for finger amputation.”
Kramer missed Tuesday’s procedural vote to promote gun safety legislation. The senator said he plans to return after the July 4th break.
“I am alert and in a good mood,” he said. “Although I miss the votes and hearings this week, I follow the Senate’s business closely and am in constant contact with my colleagues and staff.”
After his planned return, Kramer said he intended to “strike a lot with his left hand with his fist.”
