Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is reportedly divorcing actress and model Jerry Hall, writes The New York Times, citing two anonymous sources familiar with the matter.
Mr Murdoch’s spokesman, Bryce Tom, declined to comment on the Times report.
The Independent contacted Ms. Hall for comment.
The couple married in 2016 in London, after dating less than a year.
At the time, Mr Murdoch said on Twitter that he was “the happiest and happiest man in the world”.
The rumors are unlikely to affect Murdoch’s media empire, which includes stakes in the parent companies of Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The Sun and Sky News Australia.
Control of the business is based on trust, with voting rights divided between Mr Murdoch and his four eldest children: Lachlan, Elizabeth, James and Prudence.
Murdoch, 91, with $ 17.7 billion, was married three times to entrepreneur Wendy Deng, journalist Anna Murdoch Mann and Australian model Patricia Booker.
Ms. Hall, 65, was previously married to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.
They have no children in common, although they have children from previous marriages.
Mr. Murdoch and Mrs. Hall were introduced to each other by one of the sisters of the media mogul and his niece, writes the Daily Mail.
They revealed their relationship publicly in October 2015, appearing together in the final of the Rugby World Cup in London.
