Colorado Avelanche are simple a victory away from becoming the Stanley Cup champion but Tampa Bay Lightning coach John Cooper doesn’t believe Nazem Kadri’s goal in overtime should have counted after six Avs players looked on the ice as the game’s winner was announced.
Cooper, who wants to lead Lightning to three consecutive titles, struggled to speak to reporters after Wednesday night’s loss.

“This one will sting much more than the others,” Cooper said of the 3-2 loss. “It’s hard for me. It’s going to be hard for me to talk. I will have to speak. I’ll talk to you tomorrow. You will understand what I mean when you see the winning goal. And my heart breaks for the players, because we probably still have to play. I will be available tomorrow. ”

Kadri returned to the bench after being removed with a broken thumb on June 4th. After scoring 12:02 after overtime, it looked like a wider look, indicating that Nathan McKinnon was still on the ice – as if he hadn’t cleared for the bench in time.

The NHL issued a statement saying the penalty was a sentence that could be made by officials on the ice, and each of the four officials said he had not seen too many men on the ice during the winning game. The call is not subject to video review.

“I’m not quite sure what he was thinking, why it shouldn’t have been counted,” Kadri said of Cooper’s remarks. “The puck hit the back of the net, the end of the story.”

Tampa Bay will strive to keep its own hope for a third consecutive title alive when they visit Colorado for Game 5 on Friday night.
