Philadelphia Water Break: Crews React at Kensington Crossroads

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Teams in the Philadelphia Water Department have responded to a major power outage in the city’s Kensington area.

It started around 7 a.m. Thursday on 4th and Hewson streets.

Water could be seen flowing through the intersection and down the streets.

The action camera at the scene showed that the road was crooked.

The front of the Chevy Tahoe sank along with the roadway. Some neighbors have reported flooding in their basements.

PWD worked to stop the water.

The floods began to recede on the roads shortly after 9 am

Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) also responded to the scene and crews went door-to-door to check gas at residents’ homes.
