Poco X4 GT comes with Dimensity 8100, Poco F4 carries SD870

The Poco family is growing with two new members today. One has a passion for gaming and carries the first 144Hz display in the series, the other is trying to be universal with its own “first” – the first OIS camera on a Poco phone.

Poco X4 GT

Usually the F-Series is the pride and joy of the Poco line. However, the Poco X4 GT comes with the exciting Dimensity 8100 – a mid-range chipset born in TSMC’s 5nm factories with four Cortex-A78 cores and a new Mali-G610 MC6 graphics processor. This chip has published some impressive results and is usually superior to the Snapdragon 870 (and can last up to 888).

GT has a passion for gaming, which can be seen from the 144Hz display – the fastest refresh rate in the family. The sampling frequency is 270Hz. This is a 6.6 ”LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2460px (20.5: 9) and can display 1 billion colors (also supports Dolby Vision). The peak brightness is 650 nits (typically 500 nits) and the panel uses DC dimming. It is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5 (X3 GT had Victus).

Returning to the chipset, it uses LiquidCool Technology 2.0 to control heat with a steam chamber that is 32% larger than the X3 GT, plus now has 7 layers of graphite.

The chipset is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Poco listened to your requirements and returned the 3.5 mm headphone jack. This means there is no Bluetooth latency to worry about and you can charge your phone while playing. Speaking of which, the phone has a 5080mAh battery that charges with 67W with the power adapter included. A full charge of 0-100% takes 46 minutes. This battery is large enough to watch videos for 22 hours. In addition to headphones, you can also use Dolby Atmos-certified dual speakers.

The display is slightly taller than last year’s model, which allowed Poco to be over a millimeter wide, making the phone more comfortable in the hand. The weight increased slightly to 200 g (from 193 g). The X4 GT is available in black, blue and silver.

Poco X4 GT

The GT model is equipped with a 64MP camera with a larger sensor than last year (1 / 1.72 ”, 0.8µm natural pixels, 1.6µm with binning). It is joined by an 8MP 120 ° ultra wide angle camera (1.12µm), plus a 2MP macro camera. In front is a 20MP selfie camera (1 / 3.06 ”, 1.0µm).

A few more things to note. The first is the side-mounted fingerprint reader. The second is an X-axis linear motor. The wireless connection includes 5G, of course, Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and even has an IR blaster.

Pricing and launch information for the Poco X4 GT • Early pricing June 27 – July 7 • Coming soon to more retailers

The Poco X4 GT will be available on June 27 (Monday) through select retailers, including Poco’s official online store. Between June 27 and July 7, there will be an early dialing discount of € 80 compared to regular prices of € 380 for an 8 / 128GB device and € 430 for an 8 / 256GB phone. More retailers will offer the X4 GT soon.

Poco F4

The Snapdragon 870 was good enough for last year’s F3, is it good enough for the new Poco F4? This remains to be seen – the focus with the F4 was to improve camera and battery technology. If you want the highest performance, the F4 GT has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Back to Poco F4. It is the first in the family to include optical image stabilization (OIS). Putting that aside, the main camera is nothing to write about with its 1/2 ”sensor (0.7 µm pixels, 1.4 µm with bin) and f / 1.8 aperture. Like the X4 GT, it is joined by 8MP ultra wide (119 °) and 2MP macro modules at the rear and a 20MP selfie camera at the front.

In terms of charging, the battery has essentially the same capacity as the F3, 4500 mAh. However, the charge rate is doubled to 67W (adapter included) by 33W. This reduced the total charging time from 0-100% from 52 minutes to 38 minutes.

The display is the same as last year – 6.67 ”AMOLED (Samsung E4) with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz sampling rate. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (20: 9) and a peak brightness of 1300 nits (typically 900 nits). This is an HDR10 + display that already supports Dolby Vision. The physical protection is controlled by Gorilla Glass 5. Poco claims to be professional color adjustment with TrueColor, but does not provide any deltaE numbers.

Like its brother, the F4 has a side-mounted fingerprint reader and an X-axis linear motor. It also has dual Dolby Atmos speakers, but no 3.5mm jack. However, it has an IR blaster.

The Poco F4 will soon be available in two configurations. The 6 / 128GB option will cost € 400, while the 8 / 256GB will cost € 450. Note that there will be € 50 early dialing discounts for both versions between June 27 (Monday) and July 7.
