Police reported a second dive-related death near Bell Island in a matter of weeks.
The RCMP says a 56-year-old U.S. tourist dived near Lance Cove on Tuesday when he surfaced, showing signs of disaster, and later lost consciousness.
He was rushed to the Center for Health Sciences, where he was pronounced dead.
Two weeks ago, a 60-year-old man from Ontario died while diving in the same area.
The office of the chief forensic doctor is also involved in the investigation.
