During the last Google I / O developer conference, Google announced that there are many new features ready for ChromeOS that will make it easier to work on different devices. Starting with ChromeOS 103, which is coming soon, these great new additions will make their way to your Chromebook!

Latest photos of Phone Hub
We’ve been looking at the new Phone Hub for a very long time, and recently the ability to take a picture of your Android phone and see it on the dashboard of your Chromebook for quick and easy access to sharing and management hit our radar. Traditionally, you’ll need to open Google Photos after your image is backed up and then share it from the web app. The latest photos will be displayed on your laptop, even if you are not connected to Wifi, as it works via Bluetooth.
Share nearby
Another thing we had a lot of fun playing with the pre-release version, which will finally give you the opportunity to play, is Sharing Nearby! Once activated on your phone and Chromebook, you’ll be able to quickly share things from one device to another with virtually no friction. It’s similar to Apple’s Airdrop, and it’s time for Google to have a competitive tool for that. With ChromeOS 103, you’ll also be able to share your Wifi network and password with your friends or family via Nearby Sharing – just visit your network settings on your phone, tap the share and boom button, no more typing passwords or using sticky notes .
Fast couple
Google has big plans to allow users to stream their audio from one device to another – even insofar as, for example, they add streaming to a Chromebook from any other device. In the first place, however, this brings Fast Pair to ChromeOS Stable without the need for a developer flag.
Just open your Pixel Buds case and see the pop-up window that appears in the lower-right corner of your Chromebook shelf, as shown below. Then click “Connect” and you will listen to your audio with little or no effort on your laptop.
Whether you want to use new headphones to watch videos, join a virtual meeting or listen to music, Fast Pair will do it without a hitch. This feature will be compatible with hundreds of different headphone models – and counts.
The key word
Screencast
Finally, the new Screencast app we unveiled before it was announced is now coming to your device, so you can record, trim, and share transcribed videos once they’re automatically uploaded to Google Drive! You can even draw or write on the screen while recording so that you can better explain the concepts to your peers. If you want to make videos with instructions, software demonstrations, presentations or another form of video tutorial, Screencast is the right way.
Google says it will add more Better Together features later this year to make using your set of hardware devices in tune with each other easier than ever. Personally, I’m very excited to see the ability to stream audio to my Chromebook available, and I’ve complained about the lack of this feature in the past. Tell me when and if you will receive update 103 and which feature is your favorite!
