Disney sent an internal note to employees on Friday, assuring them that it would help pay for pregnancy care if they had to travel to another state instead of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Rowe against Wade.
Paul Richardson, chief human resources officer, and Pascal Thomas, vice president of corporate benefits and well-being, signed the note, which CNBC received.

“Our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing full access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, no matter where they live,” Richardson and Thomas said in a note. . .
“In fact,” they added, “we have processes in place so that an employee who may not be able to access care in one place has coverage available to receive similar levels of care elsewhere. This travel benefit covers medical situations related to cancer treatments, transplants, treatment of rare diseases and family planning (including pregnancy-related solutions). ”
Disney CEO Bob Chapek has faced an internal reaction for failing to immediately condemn Florida’s controversial Don’t Say Gay legislation. This led to a scandal in which Disney publicly admitted that it would help repeal the law after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, signed it in late March. The failed communication attempt led to Disney communications chief Jeff Morel leaving the company just three months later.
Disney did not make a separate public statement about the Supreme Court ruling.
