Amber Alert has been released for a missing teenager from Cape Breton

Cape Breton Regional Police has sent an amber signal for a missing teenager.

Dawson Donald Lively, 15, was reported missing from Glace Bay, NS on Friday.

He is described as white, five feet tall and 140 pounds. He also has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police believe he was traveling to Nova Scotia with his mother, Teria Ann Lively, 42. Police described her as white, five feet seven feet, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

When police reported around 6:40 p.m., they said they were believed to be driving a white 2018 Hyundai Elantra with a temporary license.

At around 9:30 p.m., police released an update stating that the vehicle had been abandoned along Highway 104 in the Eastern Mountains, NS

Police said a search of the area was under way.

Police are asking anyone who sees the teenager or his mother to call 911 or 902-563-5151.
