Weekend prospects: Almost perfect weekend

The first part of the weekend seems to bring a lot of sunlight with warmth and humidity that climbs until the 30s

If it weren’t for the cool winds at Superior Lake later this weekend, this would have been a perfect summer weekend.

The first part of the weekend seems to bring a lot of sunlight with warmth and humidity that climbs until the 30s. A timely cold front comes when we sleep through the night between Saturday and Sunday to keep most of our waking hours this weekend dry. We hope that the rains (and probably the storms) from this cold front will disappear early enough on Sunday to allow for a mostly sunny day.

A strip of thunderstorms will move east into the region early Friday morning. After this activity is over, for the rest of the day we will see mostly sunny skies, with temperatures around 29 ° C in the afternoon. On top of that, the humidity will make it feel more like the low 30s.

The heat and sun (and humidity) continue for another day, as daily highs on Saturday rise again to 29 ° C. In the evening a cold front arrives with possible precipitation and storms.

Sunday should be sunny, but temperatures will reach only 20 ° C in a cool northwest wind. Wind and lower temperatures persist early next week before more seasonal temperatures return for the rest of the week.
