Nothing Phone 1 will launch on July 12 and the company has already confirmed that it uses a system for invitations to purchase. Nothing’s founder Carl Pay claims that the invitation system is being used to allow the company to sell phones as soon as possible, instead of waiting for production to increase.
All this suggests that the phone can be difficult to find at startup and in the weeks after. But nothing has already opened a waiting list for interested customers in several markets, including India, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Join the Indian waiting list
Once you register on the waiting list on the Nothing’s Indian website, you will be sent an invitation code that will be used to secure your pre-order. You will also need to pay a deposit of Rs 2000 (~ $ 26) to secure the purchase.
“Then all you have to do is wait until July 12, log in to Flipkart and choose your phone model to pay the remaining amount,” the startup explained in a news release sent by email, adding that users will they have seven days to complete the purchase.
The Indian website also mentions “exclusive pre-order offers”, without mentioning specific benefits. However, adviser Ishan Agarwal previously said that the process of pre-ordering Nothing Phone 1 for India unlocks a “special price” for a phone 1 accessory and other exclusive offers.
How about the United Kingdom and Europe?
Meanwhile, the process for UK customers is a little different. Sign up for the waiting list on the Nothing UK website and you will receive an invitation code along with a £ 20 credit to spend on Phone 1 accessories or Ear 1 headphones. Otherwise, on July 12, you will receive a link to select model your phone and complete your purchase.
Nothing’s European websites also outline a waiting process for the purchase of the phone on July 12, and these users will receive a credit of € 20 for phone accessories 1 or earphones 1.
