After three months, I’m still happy with the Oxio internet

Back in April, I wrote about my attempt to move to Oxio, an Internet company that doesn’t promise “telecommunications nonsense.” Shortly after I wrote it, I disappeared from MobileSyrup to go on parental leave after my wife gave birth to a baby.

I wanted to write a sequel to the original song, and now that I’m back, it seemed like a great time to do it. What follows is additional information after using the Oxio service for about three months, as well as answers to some questions I received from readers while I was away.

First, my experience so far has been fantastic. I have not encountered any delays or other problems with my service. I spent a few days without the Internet after the May 21 storm that hit southern Ontario, but it wasn’t Oxio’s fault – the company’s service is working on Rogers’ infrastructure in Ontario.

As someone who relies on the Internet for both their work (I work almost exclusively from home) and entertainment (I like to play video games and stream movies and shows because I don’t have a cable), consistent and quality service is important. I have a feeling that Oxio has delivered so far. And I don’t seem to be the only one – several readers have left comments on my previous story, describing in detail their own positive experiences with Oxio.

Finally, I wanted to reiterate that depending on where you live, the Oxio service may differ! Although my experience with the service is excellent, Oxio’s internet works with different providers in some provinces. Again in Ontario, Oxio uses Rodgers. In Quebec he used Vidéotron, while in British Columbia and Alberta he worked on Shaw. In other words, there may be differences between the sequence and speed I get and what you would get in another province.

This sums it all up for me. I will follow this post more closely, so feel free to ask any questions below and I will try to answer them. Alternatively, there is a small, fan-run subreddit Oxio and a Discord channel run by employees, where you can get and answer questions.
