From Dagerridge Farm, Cadelius. He died peacefully at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the age of 84. A much-loved partner of Myrtle, the father of Becky and Daryl (Dec.) and the grandfather of Felix and Sofia. His cheerful demeanor and constant optimism will unfortunately be lacking in everyone. A service will be held at Taunton Crematorium on Monday, July 4 from 11 a.m., followed by refreshments at Cruwys Morchard Village Hall. Please do not hesitate to wear color splashes. He died peacefully at his home in Exeter on June 14 at the age of 70 after a brief but courageous battle with motor neurone disease. Beloved husband of Linda, much loved father of Melissa, David and Amy, very special grandfather for Emily-May, Stephanie and Elizabeth. Unfortunately, everyone who knew him will miss him. Richard was a kind, loving and gentle man who made a huge contribution to the NHS during his 40-year career in finance. After retiring, he devoted his time to charity, using his considerable skills and was on the board of trustees of the Devon Wildlife Trust, Exeter Community Initiatives, Refuge for Pets and Northbrook Community Trust. He will be remembered with love for his love of music and his inspiring desire to see the good in everything, and of course, that cheeky smile. The celebration of Richard’s life will take place at Exeter Cathedral on Thursday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a private family cremation. Bright summer clothes can be worn in honor of his life.
