What are you playing this weekend? (June 25)

Does everyone feel a little chilled after non-E3? Okay, we’re still waiting for Nintendo Direct, but we got a presentation focused on Xenoblade Chronicles 3, where a new expansion pass was introduced. AM2R developers have reunited in a brand new stunning-looking Metroidvania project. And Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition finally hit consoles earlier this week.

It was also a busy week for Sonic, who celebrates his 31st birthday on Thursday! We sat down with Takashi Iizuka, the head of the Sonic Team, to discuss Sonic Origins. We also praised AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative in our review. And if you want to know where the best Good Bois on the Switch are, then our list of the best dogs includes you.

Now it’s time to relax and discuss our plans for the weekend games. Several members of the Nintendo Life team did just that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join your own through our comment section. Enjoy!

It will help. I can’t stop playing Neon White. This game is so addictive; sometimes, even though I have climbed the rankings and received the Ace medal, I will continue to join the level because I saw another possible shortcut. The highest I’ve ranked is about 150, so I’m not that good, but it’s so satisfying to rise in the ranks.

Also on the list is Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. Is it time to admit that I’ve never played Torna before? I am absolutely in love with Laura and Adam. But I can handle my usual Xenoblade tricks of running around, fighting too many enemies, completing every side quest, and getting lost while exploring. Ah, it’s good to be back.

This is the season of countless games that make me play with my lag like a puzzle with sliding blocks. I can’t decide which game to play as my heart is torn left and right! The unveiling of the Crisis Core remake and the second part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake finally gave me the impetus I needed to immerse myself in the first part of my PS4 (please don’t deny me).

As for Switch, I recently finished AI: The Somnium Files on the eve of the release of the sequel, nirvanA Initiative (I started working on the game for the YouTube channel – see it here! – and already quite scared!)

I also played Fire Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, and while I’m enjoying my time, I can put it off for a while to try to clear a few more things on my plate before the other big RPG hits us next month. Watching you Live A Live, Digimon Survive and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 …

I am currently playing 3 games at the moment! The Witcher 3 (yes, it’s still strong with it), which I’m now in the latest DLC. I hope not too far into the future, I can finally say that I completely beat The Witcher 3!

I also started playing Hollow Knight, which is always exciting, along with a new play of Cuphead with my brother in preparation for the long-awaited DLC!

No less than eight physical Switch games arrived last week, including long-sought-after titles such as Windjammers 2 and Horgihugh and Friends. Wreckfest is an absolute dream, while Pac-Man Museum + finally puts my favorite games from the franchise (Pac-Man Arragement and Pac-Mania) in their hands.

Not surprisingly, the game of the week is Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. This is a must for anyone who has played Fire Emblem: Three Houses, even if you don’t like the “Musou” series, because it describes the events that happened to everyone during the skip. Long live Tsar Demetrius!

I’m still slowly but surely making my way through Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic right now. I swear I’ll finish it soon, honestly! I enjoy it as much as I can because you can be sure I won’t touch the sequel until a) I get the extra DLC and b) it’s not fixed!

Otherwise I will be immersed in several new games, mostly Sonic Origins and Fall Guys. The latter is a lot more fun than I thought it would be and I find it quite addictive. All it takes is Craig Charles to provide some sarcastic story in the background (shout to all Takeshi Castle fans).

As always, thanks for reading! Don’t forget to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
