Vice President Kamala Harris has faced a backlash after posting a “deaf” photo promising to fight for abortion rights – as she watched coverage of Rowe’s national protests against Wade unfolding by Air Force 2.
Harris posted the photo on his official Twitter page Friday night as activists took to the streets after the Supreme Court overturned a landmark abortion decision.
“I know there are women who are afraid. For those of you who feel alone and scared: I want you to know the president and I am fighting for you and your rights. We are in this battle together, “tweeted Veep.
The consequences were swift, with many accusing Harris of not touching her, and others saying her message was the equivalent of “thoughts and prayers,” a noncommittal message often given by lawmakers after a mass shooting.
Kamala Harris had posted the photo on her official Twitter page as election activists took to the streets following Roe’s cancellation against Wade Friday by Stephen Young.
“Hmm. At 36,000 feet above all else, you’re watching a big ass TV on a private jet and the message is “we’re in this together”? “I’m not sure you understand where we are at the moment,” tweeted Joan McCarter, a political writer for the liberal daily Kos.
“Can you be specific?” Like, * how * are you fighting? Describe the tactics, explain the policy, give us a brief description, “added New York Magazine reporter Hillary Kelly.
Freelance reporter Trent Rainsmith tweeted, “So, more or less, ‘thoughts and prayers.’
The editor of the left-wing Discourse Blog, Jack Mirkinson, also wrote: “You can try and try, but you wouldn’t come up with a sharper visual metaphor for the Democrats’ complete detachment from the fight against abortion than this.
Others, meanwhile, called on Harris to delete the post and fire the strategist who approved it.
“Who was the strategist who decided that taking a picture of a tax-funded private jet, both physically and metaphorically, over people watching thoughtfully without showing action was a good idea?” Imani Barbarin tweeted.

“Not Vice President Kamala Harris, who is watching the erosion of #RoeVsWade from his plane, from a distance. Anyone who thinks this is a good cameraman should be fired immediately. This is literally the embodiment of thoughts and prayers, “resents writer and activist Anna Gifti.
Podcaster Kendall Ray simply wrote, “Just delete this honestly.”
