A man who complained that there was too much mayonnaise on his sandwich opened fire at a sandwich shop in Atlanta, killing one employee and injuring another, police said.
The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at a subway restaurant attached to a gas station in downtown Atlanta. Police said the man quarreled with the two workers and then opened fire, according to media reports.
As of early Monday morning, Atlanta police have released no arrest information or details about the suspect.
“What you see behind me is the result of a tragedy, a senseless tragedy that we have seen many times during the year, where a dispute leads to a shooting and we are now dead,” interim police chief Darin Schierbaum told WSB TV.
Police did not immediately release the names of the two women, and the condition of the injured woman was not immediately clear.
“My heart breaks to know that someone has the audacity to point a gun and shoot someone even against too much mayonnaise on a sandwich,” said restaurant co-owner Willie Glenn.
