Update: Hwy 17 is reopened between McKerrow and Nairn Center

Manitoulin OPP tweeted around 3:30 pm that there was a collision in the area of ​​the bridge over the Spanish river. The highway was closed for about six hours while police investigated.

While the road was reopened, police did not provide new information on the nature of the crash.

The OPP Northeast region tweeted Sunday afternoon that a crash had closed Highway 17 on Sand Bay Road.

Police in Manitulin Province, Ontario, are currently at the scene.
