HTC’s “metaverse” smartphone has finally been announced. Surprisingly, the company’s device is mid-range and has the well-known brand “Desire”.
In terms of specifications, Desire 22 Pro has a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It also comes with Android 12, Snapdragon 695 processor, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB memory. You can also expect a 64-megapixel main shooter, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 5-megapixel depth shooter. This phone is powered by a 4520 mAh battery.

Although HTC calls this a phone with a metaverse, it seems to be mostly for branding.
Here’s what HTC has to say about the device:
Unlock endless possibilities with optimized performance and connectivity to 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which make virtual navigation quick and easy. Visit metauniverse communities in VIVERSE using your browser or pair Desire 22 pro with VIVE Flow to explore them in VR. With on-screen casting, you can access your mobile apps while immersed and stream media in a private cinema experience.
Enjoy a rich view of the metaverse even without VR headphones, using VIVERSE, your portal for collaboration between different platforms, virtual events, entertainment and more.
HTC’s Vive Flow virtual reality headphones are designed to work with any Android phone, so it’s really not clear how this phone is a little more useful than other devices.
How the strong have fallen. HTC was once a brand for high-end smartphones that provide a great experience. The company recently released these random fashion devices. Earlier, the company released the blockchain smartphones Exodus 1 and Exodus 1S, which did not gain traction for Taiwanese technology manufacturers, and this is unlikely to make a difference.
