An 81-year-old woman from Brampton was found dead Monday afternoon, a day after she was reported missing.
Regional Police Peel confirmed to the media that Pasho Bassi’s body was found around 5pm on June 27 by a waterway in the Valley Creek area of Brampton, near Lexington and Long Meadow. The elderly woman was last seen around 8pm on Sunday at her residence near Cottrelle Boulevard and McVean Drive in Brampton.
Const. Sarah Patton of the Peel Police, a media liaison officer, told the media in the Toronto area that the circumstances surrounding Bassi’s death were not considered suspicious. But she confirmed that a report from the coroner would be needed to confirm the cause of death.
“We want to express our sincerest condolences to Ms. Bassi’s family and relatives and friends,” Patton said. “And we will provide all the support they need.
