Terry McClorin held on and picked up his bag.
Washington Commanders and the star receiver have agreed to a three-year extension worth $ 23.3 million a year in new money, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport announced on Tuesday. The deal comes with a total of $ 53.15 million in guarantees, $ 34.6 million fully guaranteed upon signing and a $ 28 million signing bonus, Rapoport added.
McClorin was to enter the final year of his contract with a basic salary of $ 2.79 million in 2022.
Now he enjoys an even higher salary.
The former third-round pick missed the mandatory mini-camp earlier this month as the parties continued to discuss an extension. Commander-in-chief Ron Rivera downplayed the discontent at the time, noting that negotiations were “going in the right direction”.
For three seasons, McLorrin proved to be a target despite the revolving door of the quarterback. The 26-year-old has generated 3,090 yards and 16 TDs on 222 assists in his career and has gone on to run over 1,000 yards. He did all this, although he caught passes from Taylor Heinicke, Gareth Gilbert, the weakened Alex Smith, Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen, Case Keynam and Colt McCoy.
With Carson Wentz, who is now the incumbent, McLorin can begin to build a relationship with his new QB training camp without disrupting the contract.
A precise runner with sticky hands, the McLaurin can be opened at any level. It is a type of shiraut that makes difficult catches seem routine.
The new $ 23.3 million money puts McLaurin easily in the top 10 on average annual distribution. Commanders wideout became the 12th receiver to cross the $ 20 million a year mark. Nine receivers have signed contracts for at least $ 20 million a year during this off-season.
The off-season of The Receiver continues.
And we’re not ready: DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel and Diontae Johnson are still waiting for expansions.
