10 bikes with Shimano’s new 105 Di2 electronic kit

Leading bike brands are faster than electronic shifting to launch the new Shimano 105 R7150 Di2 group kit in their latest versions.

Electrification of Shimano’s third-tier mechanical kit 105 has been expected for a long time, leaving the brand behind its competitors.

The electronic equivalent of the SRAM 105, the Rival eTap AXS, was released in 2021. Our technical writer Oscar Huckle compiled a buyer’s guide comparing the Shimano 105 R7150 Di2 with the SRAM Rival eTap AXS.

Before launching, we called on Shimano to follow suit – a wireless, 12-speed 105 group kit tops our Shimano wish list for 2022. It remains to be seen whether an updated mechanical version of the 105 will follow.

So far, the Shimano 105 Di2 has appeared on a variety of bikes, from the most prestigious models of some brands to mid-range options elsewhere.

Although you can order many of these bikes now, some brands have told us that their bikes with the new set of groups will not be available until 2023.
