The man faces numerous charges after chaotic driving on highway 12

A 35-year-old man was stopped in Ramara and, according to OPP Orillia, there was open alcohol and cannabis “available to the driver”

A man is in hot water after a traffic stop in the town of Ramara.

On Saturday (25 June), shortly after 10:30 pm, Orillia OPP staff responded to ‘numerous driving complaints’ concerning a vehicle driving on Highway 12 from Orillia to Ramara.

Police quickly found the car and stopped traffic. Police found an open container with alcohol and cannabis, which was “accessible to the driver”, according to a press release from OPP Orillia.

The driver was arrested and taken to the Orylia Squad for further investigation.

Jason Genero, 35, of Scarborough, is accused of having difficulty driving (alcohol and drugs), failing to comply or refusing to comply with the search and driving a vehicle with alcohol and cannabis that are easily accessible.

The accused was released on bail and will appear in the Ontario Court in Oryol on July 19 to answer the charges.

The accused’s car was confiscated for seven days and his driver’s license was confiscated for 90 days.
