Can you imagine joining a free agency for NBA 2022 without a new batch of predictions for each individual team?
Yes, and I can’t.
The whole hell is already falling apart thanks to the ruthless rumor mill of the Association. This gives us a leg up when we try to analyze the fog that is spinning in our crystal ball.
We already have a sense of the directions in which many teams are heading. Some transactions look like deals, although players and teams will never, never, ever have contact before the official launch of the free agency on June 30 at 18:00 ET.
The forecasts for each franchise will strive to be as realistic as possible without diving too far into the mundane. Yours really wants to look back on this project without completely despising or being saddened by how many assumptions I made, but he also knows that I took a risk.
The direct signing of free agencies will not be the only transactions eligible for inclusion. This will become very boring, very fast. Extensions and deals will be a fair game in the name of diversity. It will also not move. And in situations where the obvious can’t be avoided, unique rotations of old images and details will be included to keep things fresh.

Prediction: The Atlanta Hawks will do at least a blockbuster trade during a free agency.
These rumbles of Dejounte Murray to the Hawks grow to a miniature roar.
In the last episode of Please do not aggregate This podcast, Jake Fisher said he was told that “Atlanta thinks they are close to a deal” and the deal will not include John Collins (4:03 p.m.).
This coincides with reports from WSB-TV’s Zack Klein, who tweeted that “many believe the Hawks are on the verge of trading for San Antonio star defender Dejunte Murray. However, John Collins does not appear to be part of the deal. There will be a Gallo & multiple choices from the 1st round. The Spurs are preparing for the future and the ’23 draft. “
Sending Murray and throwing a cannonball in reconstruction would be uncharacteristic of the Spurs. On the other hand, sending Derrick White to Boston at the trade deadline was not typical for them either. They can actually prepare a planned demolition to improve their chances of making a star with a tent.
However, even if the Hawks don’t grab Murray, they have another blockbuster in the future. A source close to Collins told Chris Airsletic’s Chris Kirchner that the big man was “done in Atlanta.” This is the echo of rumors of preliminary plans that portray Collins as out.
Murray’s landing wouldn’t change things – although his potential core, Collins, Trey Young, Clint Capella, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter, did give Hawks something. (I refuse to believe that getting Murray will not involve a deal with Onyeka Okongwu or Collins).
Murray is another player on the ball who will help keep Collins in a special role. Clearly, Collins wants responsibility, Atlanta has no intention of giving it to him. Divorce seems inevitable.

Prediction: The Boston Celtics will spend their entire mid-level exception and use one of their larger exceptions for traded players.
Maintaining a team is expensive. The Celtics need to start thinking about Jaylan Brown’s next deal; he qualifies for an extension, just like Grant Williams. Marcus Smart’s new four-year contract kicks off next season. Assuming they fully guarantee Al Horford’s contract, as expected, they will have a salary north of $ 155 million, which is comfortable above the $ 150 million luxury tax line.
That shouldn’t stop the Celtics from continuing to spend. They just finished two wins less than the damn NBA championship. Nobody cares about your salary. Keep getting good players when your window is so open.
Maybe this is desirable thinking. Boston’s Derrick White trade leaves me with a warm, vague feeling that it may not be so.
It helps that the Celtics have more tools than most tax-deductible franchises. In addition to the $ 6.4 million mini average, they have two significant trade exceptions: a $ 17.1 million TPE that expires on July 18 (Evan Fournier), and a $ 6.9 million TPE (Juan Hernangomez).
At least two of these tools must be used to wind another ball game manager with total depth. The Celtics are so close that even raising eighth and ninth place in their rotation can put them above the top.

Prediction: Commercial rumors about Kyrie Irving are easing … for now.
Kyrie Irving is apparently considered a leader in thinking about … taking a $ 36.6 million player option instead of signing with the Los Angeles Lakers for the $ 6.4 million mini midfield exception. Sure.
Choosing the final year of his deal does not guarantee that he will start next season with the Brooklyn Nets. They can still trade it. He just won’t get a new deal in the process. However, his next team will have the rights of Bird and will be able to make it to the maximum in 2023.
Brooklyn can’t afford to go that route right now. Kyrie’s attack clearly means the loss of Kevin Durant, and this team could still be in hell in the league if Irving, KD and Ben Simmons are healthy.
Fast forward to the middle of the season and who knows? If the Nets don’t play well, they might reconsider. Or maybe Kyrie is both fully available and has a year to pursue, and he takes the opportunity to seek trading in a more friendly market of foreign interest.
Anything is possible for these dramatic, highly flammable networks. But Kyrie’s exit no longer seems inevitable. Just don’t ask me to predict the same five minutes from now until February.

Prediction: Miles Bridges signs a bid list with another team and Charlotte Hornets responds.
Thin choices await free agents who hope to use their own teams in larger offers. Approximately half a dozen teams are scheduled to have significantly more than the maximum space, and one of them, although we won’t mention any names, is involved in an inexplicable general pursuit of Jalen Brunson.
Bet on the always cost-conscious Hornets who are trying to use this to their advantage.
At some level, they have already launched a disinformation campaign, leaking information that they would potentially have to throw away Gordon Hayward’s salary in order to afford Bridges’ next deal. (They don’t.) Allowing Bridges to define her own market instead of negotiating against herself is the natural next step.
Yes, there is some risk inherent in this approach. Maybe the Detroit Pistons or the Orlando Magic or the San Antonio Spurs sign it on a maximum bid list with the sole intention of inflating Charlotte’s wages. Or maybe Bridges signs a shorter-term agreement that brings him back to the free agency earlier.
The Hornets can – and look like a franchise will – bear that risk. Either way, Bridges will cost them a whole boat after failing to extend it last fall. Getting him to sign a bid sheet gives them coverage if it is later considered an overpayment, as they cannot no coincides.
The best scenario for the Hornets, the market is cooler for him than originally thought. That may not make Charlotte a friend of Klutch Sports, but friendship rarely interferes with Michael Jordan’s wallet.

Prediction: Zach LaVine signs a five-year maximum with a player option.
Sources told Jake Fisher of the Bleacher Report that Zack Lavine was “expected” to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls on a free agency. Given the accuracy with which Fischer reports for the off-season in 2021, this forecast is almost as spicy as an ice-cold glass of water.
However, there is some mystery in the details.
Will LaVine put on paper a full five-year high that pays him about $ 212.3 million? Will it go the four-year journey for $ 167 million? Will it structure its contract to include a player option, perhaps so that it can re-enter the market in 2025-2026, when the money from the next NBA television deal will raise the salary ceiling?
The latter scenario is extremely plausible. LaVine enters its season at the age of 27. Three plus one brings him back to the market when TV money is expected to arrive, at which time he will only enter his campaign at the age of 30.
Still, I predict a full five-year boat. LaVine doesn’t have the purest health – he underwent surgery on his left knee last May – so securing long-term money makes the most sense. He also has the lever to get a player option, and four plus one still brings him back to the free agency during his heyday.

Forecast: Colin Sexton (limited) returns with a three- or four-year contract that pays him less than $ 18 million a year.
Some viewed the trade with Karis Levert as proof that the Cavaliers would move from Sexton. Not me.
LeVerth has a contract for just one more year, and Cleveland can’t just let Sexton go without compensation. Signing and trading scenarios can be in play, but they are also complex thanks to both the base year compensation and the market light on the big walkers digging for combo guards.
The consensus is also too low for Sexton. He may never inject more consistency in his ball defense and may have already peaked as a playmaker. After all, this is a man who averaged more than 24 points and four assists in 2020-2021, while knocking down 37.8% of his threes and 50.1% of his doubles, all without absolutely cannibalizing offensive possessions. . This is legal.
The release of a torn left meniscus will limit Sexton’s overall market, as well as the limited space for limited space. That should give Cleveland a lever to sign it for less than $ 18 million. He could later understand the Sexton-LeVert-Darius Garland situation.
And for Sexton, fishing for a three-year deal or a three-plus-one framework gives it time to increase its value before the TV money market – without actually compromising its long-term security.
